[*Better Angels*](https://truckstop.waterdragonpublishing.com/product/better-angels/?ref=newsletter.ryansouthwickauthor.com) is a short [*Truck Stop at the Center of the Galaxy*](https://truckstop.waterdragonpublishing.com/?ref=newsletter.ryansouthwickauthor.com) story, the first scene of which made me wonder if I’d somehow stumbled into the taboo category of Amazon’s adult reading section. Having read other [Water Dragon Publishing](https://waterdragonpublishing.com/?ref=newsletter.ryansouthwickauthor.com) titles, however, I took a leap of faith and read on. I wasn’t disappointed. Brewer’s angle became quickly apparent, took me on as much as an adventure as 20 pages can, then finished with a rewarding wrap-up. Being a short story, I can’t say much else without giving the plot away, but if you’re looking for a lot of science fiction in a little package, *Better Angels* will satisfy.
