Book Review: Hot Drop

Hot Drop is an adrenaline-spiked hallucinogen injected straight into your neck. From the first paragraph, it grabs you by the nose and doesn’t let go until 25 pages later, where it plops you back on the couch, panting and questioning your own reality.

Author J Dark does a marvelous job putting us right in the middle of a futuristic combat squad dropping into an unknown hot-zone, where what was supposed to be a typical recon mission quickly turns into something more. The characters, terminology, and speech are realistic and immersive, and the descriptions of both the ship and the alien world make you feel like you’re there.
