Book Review: Silver Borne
Continuing the upward trend, Silver Borne surpasses Bone Crossed as my favorite Mercy book—and no, I’m not done with the series yet. =] “Balanced” is the best word for it. Mercy has a few issues she’s trying to get past, and justifiably so, but she continues to peek more out from her barb-wire-topped-concrete-reinforced-with-sentry-turrets fortress of independence. Briggs has created intriguing and different societies of werewolves, vampires, and fae, each with their own rules of governance. Silver Borne focuses on werewolves and fae, fleshing out some of the intricacies of pack life, while giving us more strange fae creatures of legend that she brings to life with colorful descriptions, rich histories, and engaging personalities and quirks.
